Farm Sanctuary Pignic: A Different Kind of Fourth of July in the Finger Lakes

If you've driven through Watkins Glen and wondered about the lanes leading to Farm Sanctuary, July 4th is the day to finally pull in. The Pignic is Farm Sanctuary's annual Fourth of July celebration — a gathering of people, pigs, and the particular joy of spending Independence Day in the company of animals who've found theirs. The 275-acre sanctuary in Watkins Glen is home to more than 400 rescued farm animals, and the Pignic turns the grounds into a community celebration unlike any fireworks show in the region.
