Rhiannon Giddens and the Silkroad Ensemble at del Lago Resort — A Once-in-a-Season Finger Lakes Night

Rhiannon Giddens is bringing the Silkroad Ensemble to the Finger Lakes for a single Friday night, and it's worth planning your August around. American Songwriter calls her "one of the most important musical minds currently walking the planet." A two-time Grammy Award and Pulitzer Prize winner, MacArthur Genius grant recipient, Giddens leads the cross-cultural Silkroad Ensemble, founded by cellist Yo-Yo Ma. Their new program, "Sanctuary: The Power of Resonance and Ritual," brings together top folk and classical instrumentalists from around the world — tabla, banjo, harp, Japanese flutes, frame drums — into a single room. The venue is del Lago Resort's Vine Theater in Waterloo, right in the Seneca Lake corridor. This is an ages 21 and over event; IDs are checked at the door.
